The Snowman

A three day Christmas Workshops for 4/6 year old children

"I remember that winter because it had brought the heaviest snows I had ever seen. Snow had fallen steadily all night long and in the morning I woke in a room filled with light and silence, the whole world seemed to be held in a dream-like stillness. It was a magical day... and it was on that day I made the Snowman."

This year our new teacher Inga chose a magnificent story The Snowman to be in the centre of our three day Christmas workshop. The Snowman is a children's picture book without words by English author Raymond Briggs, first published in 1978. It is truly magic. Apart from the rich story and beautiful song, children were happy to do many hands-on activities. At the end of our workshop children not only learned about a classic English story, but connected to it and through it learned many new words (body parts, clothes, colors, christmas vocabulary).
