The Colours of Music  I  The Gingerbread Man

The Colours of Music

25 - 26 - 27 Octobre 2011

pour les enfants de 3 à 6 ans

Activities of this workshop were based on the famous musical The Sound of Music. Children sang the well-know Do-Re-Mi song, composed their own piece of music, learnt the names of musical instruments, made their own tambourine and talked about their favourite things (My favourite Things song). There was also time to go outside and play various playground games!

The famous story of The Gingerbread Man allowed us to cover various topics with children during these three days. We started with listening to the whole story on CD, story poster helped us to follow the characters easily. Then we made puppets in order to get closer to each character and assimilate their language. Children love playing with puppets and as we were listening again to the story they demonstrated who is speaking by holding up the corresponding character puppet. Singing is an integral part of each of our workshop: we learned three new songs: The Gingerbread Man (the whole story put into a song), 5 little Gingerbread Men and Head and Shoulders, Knees & Toes. Last but not least: the actual making of a gingerbread man! Cooking is great fun for children and this workshop wouldn’t be complete without eating your own gingerbread man up!
